We are based in Pensford, Bristol and are a fun, hobby club with encouragement for owners to become more competitive if they wish. We hold 3 classes on a Tuesday and a Thursday evening, covering all levels of ability. There are currently over 100 members spread over 6 classes.
We are a non-profit making club, putting money taken back into club funds for equipment and barn hire.
Classes are held in a covered barn with shredded rubber on the ground. This allows all year round exercise and means that we don’t have to stop when the light of summer fades.
Dogs can be trained through voice commands or hand signals.
Our club was established in May 2006 by Malcolm and Pat Webb and Kevin and Kath Veale. The club is currently instructed by Malcolm, Eddie Lawrence and Geoff Sewell as the main instructors with both Victoria and Vivienne as stand-by instructors.
Malcolm specialises in animal behaviour and has trained numerous dogs with challenging behaviour. He has been training dogs for many years covering Working Trials, Obedience and Agility, which led to him forming a fun club.
Pat Webb can also be found at the training venue, supporting Malcolm on training nights and ensuring that the club runs smoothly.
We held an intra club competition in July in aid of the Starfish Pool Appeal. All abilities of dogs competed, including members of our Junior agility club. We raised £400 for the charity.
As part of Chapel Farm open day we had a demo and 'pay and play', where owners could pay to take heir dog around the course. We raised £132 for Mutts with friends and Wolf Dog. We did the same event at Holly Hedge fundraising day where we raised £194 and Greyhound and Lurcher rescue, raising £141.
Members put their brains to the test at our annual Christmas quiz, raising money for Mutts with friends.
